Our Mission
We Are All About
Helping people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
At Kearney Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene, our mission is to help people — those who do not yet believe, those simply exploring faith, and those already following Jesus — to grow into fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
We see this mission expressed in everyday life through three essential commitments:
KNOW GOD: Growing in a personal relationship with Him.
We believe God desires to be really known in a personal way, not simply known about. Through His Word, prayer, worship, and meaningful relationships, we seek to help people discover who God is, experience His love, and grow in their understanding of His character and purposes. Our commitment is to educate, encourage, and equip believers for lives of faithful, fruitful discipleship.
This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 9:23-24
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
LOVE GOD: Expressing love through wholehearted devotion and obedience.
Knowing God naturally leads us to love Him. Jesus calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength - that’s a love that reaches beyond words, songs,
or Sunday gatherings and into every part of life. We believe our love for God is demonstrated through our actions: how we worship, how we obey His Word, the decisions we make, and how we respond to His leading. We desire to help people develop a genuine, growing love for God that influences how we live each day.
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37
SERVE OTHERS: Sharing the love of Jesus through compassionate action.
We believe the love of Christ is meant to flow through us into our homes, neighborhoods, communities, and world. We recognize that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, demonstrating His compassion through acts of kindness, generosity, service, and sacrifice. Serving others is not simply a church activity; it is a way of life. As followers of Jesus, we are called to serve the world Jesus died to save.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
Know God. Love God. Serve Others.
These are not simply things we do at church, but a way of following Jesus every day. And wherever you are on your journey, there is a place for you to join us in that mission.
